Additional Info:
The Magic Typewriter and Other Early Grade Pieces for Piano Solo was Margaret Goldston’s first published collection, released in 1982 by Galaxy Music Corporation. The pieces in The Magic Typewriter are unmistakably influenced by the children’s piano compositions of Bartók and Kabalevsky, as well as emerging pedagogical composers Lynn Freeman
Olson and William Gillock. Many of the compositions reflect a series of children’s games and activities.
This new edition of The Magic Typewriter compares various workshop copies of the collection, where Margaret wrote sketches and scripts for her presentations and noted additions and corrections to the printing. The updated engraving includes these updates, as well as the addition of measure numbers. An extensive three-page foreword is included, and also the original cover art.
